With more than 20 years of marketing experience with a niche specialization in the retail, restaurant and non-profit industries, Mikey Monaghan has been a marketing freelancer in Baltimore for 11 years.
Mikey began her career early. In her teenage years, she worked alongside her mother, coordinating and producing high-profile fashion/retail events for a collection of first-class, shopping centers. This experience led to a position in marketing and promotions, starting with the Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship store in New York City and later with Conde Nast Publications’ SELF Magazine.
Ultimately, Mikey returned to Baltimore to continue her career. Before setting out on her own, she held marketing positions with Prime Retail, public relations firm Weinberg Harris & Associates, and Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse, where she developed and managed strategic marketing programs, special events/promotions and public relations for their managed properties, including Belvedere Square and Harbor East, to name a few.
Over the past few years her client roster for strategic marketing and event planning has included: Green Spring Station and the Mt. Washington Tavern, as well as several non-profit organizations, including the Archdiocese of Baltimore, United Way of Central Maryland and the Baltimore Choral Arts Society
Mikey has also produced signature art festivals, including Art Outside – which enjoyed a very successful, three-year run in Druid Hill Park.
Mikey has extensive experience managing media relations. She has garnered local regional media attention for her clients. In addition, she is tasked with managing social media for her clients.
In 2007, the ICSC, a national shopping center trade organization, honored her work with a MAXI Merit Award in the Sales Promotion category. Mikey is currently a board member of the Baltimore School for the Arts and has been a committee member and volunteer since 2000.
